Re: >> this purchase will cost about $0.035/share <<

The purchase of SyQuest is a capital expenditure and will not have a
direct expense against the EPS. It becomes an asset and as such balances off the outlay, we will see the expense over time in the form of depreciation, it will be written off as per the allowable tax formula.

With regard to Jodie's " challenging quarter " type of statement. He reiterated his position the following day during his v-call interview. He had time to assess the streets judgement of the conference call but continued to support the likelihood of a flat to slightly plus- minus quarter. The good news is that Jodie should have given guidance that IOM could and should beat, the bad news is that we have to wait until next quarter to find out.

I did lighten my holdings during his interview because a statement of uncertainly was purposely injected into this quarter twice. I will be holding long with the rest and looking to add to my position as those opportunities arise. BTW I didn't like the way he made his statements about the next quarter and have become suspicious of his motive given the formality with which the statement was made. As pointed out by some he didn't have to state so in such a dry and formal way he could have accented the positive and he choose not to.
Could be just the way he does things but it makes me wonder why.

I would suggest that the Zip 250 so far as configured ( external parallel port ) will not be a big seller, those that would be looking at this product are for the most part the most technically savvy and are waiting for either the USB or internal ATAPI versions.

It must have blown Sony away to have only sold less than 100 of their HiFD drives, but really who want's a slow parallel port drive ?
