Sorry for the newbie question, but the JMAR web page says, "The Britelight BL-1001 is a patented, diode-pumped laser built to offer short pulses (200 ps to 2 ns) with a pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of up to 1 kHz." My new-to-JMAR mind says, "Eh?"

It's not clear to me what the practical applications of Brightlight are. I understand the concept of a laser (in fact, I had eye laser surgery about a year ago), but what's so special about Brightlight?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris
