Novell initially plans on offering the Digital Me free of charge. It would later determine what a fee might be for the service it would provide.

During the entire conference the term "Moving at Internet Speed" was mentioned. I have personally not heard that statement until last week. But Chris Stone brought it up and Novell is committed to moving at Internet Speed. This means to them that you bring something out so fast that it makes sense technically before it makes sense financially and that it will excite the investment community. Clear examples of companies that have moved at Internet Speed are Amazon.Com, Netscape, Ebay, etc.

Novell has been commanded by Schmidt to move things out at Internet Speed. Digital Me and the "Ten Zens" are examples of output from this comannd from the top.

BTW - I met Eric personally last week for 5 minutes. Told him that I was very impressed by his results with Novell and asked him if he remembered by email last spring regarding the "Make NDS the Kleenex of the Directory Services World". He stated that not only did he remember it, he brought it to their weekly VP Status meeting and they went through it line by line. Then he sent it out to all his management in Novell. He said that he wasnt sure if anyone took action on it. I said that I dont know if it was due to my letter but Novell is executing the strategy I stated in the email almost flawlessly. (still haven't washed my hand - lol).
