Unisys announcement in context . . .

Identix already has similar deals in place (using F3 or earlier technology) with Oracle and Computer Associates. Neither one of these alliances has resulted in significant business. Now it will pick up an Identicator/Unisys enterprise deal, using the Compaq approach. What's interesting about the press release to me is its use of price quotations ($134 for a standalone unit and $174 if integrated into a keyboard). This is certainly cheaper than the other Identix approach, and indicates that price is a significant selling point as far as Unisys is concerned. By the way, I wonder which keyboard maker is part of this deal?

Does IDX have any competition left in this area? I doubt that the NRID/CA deal is still alive.
