What I was referring to was PIII SPECIFIC software.
As for PIII sensitive software, I think you and Jim are right, it's probably built into Win2K and is invoked when a PIII is sensed. (It also seems natural that WinTel would collaborate on this ID initiative). But what does it mean to the average user? That's what's interesting.
