It was real interesting to watch Hambrecht and Quist buying into WIND with both hands when the stock moved back down into the low 30's this morning....

Sounds like the analyst was a bit miffed by not having phone calls returned by WIND, huh ??

Nice jab at them by throwing the MSFT/INTS info in there as well...

Anybody care to guess where the bottom might be ??

Helen

Funny that management's failures to return calls caused the suspension. I am happy to see that management learned their lesson about talking to analysts. They shouldn't be doing that right at the end of the quarter or any time between now and earnings. I am sure that most companies have a very good idea of earnings on the day after the quarter ends. Fortunately they do not report them to analysts until they are reported publicly.

It's really kind of an ugly game this investment "analysis".

Hell hath no fury like an analyst scorned.
If Briefing has it right, H&Q's analyst dropped coverage when the folks at Wind River didn't return her call soon enough to suit her. They probably have received a zillion phone calls since Friday afternoon. How rude of them, not to return her call.

Drop coverage if they don't call back soon enough. Does that seem reasonable? Or, could it be an attempt to manipulate the market?

I think she got her feelings hurt.

Frank

Wind River Systems Inc. (WIND) 35 +2 13/16: --UPDATE-- Wind River investors suspends Hambrecht & Quist for utter stupidity and childish behavior. Informed investors understand that MSFT and INTS are nowhere close to WIND in embedded applications. Hambrecht & Quist have shown that they do not know what they are talking about and therefore have been suspended permanently.
