This still doesn't solve the problem. It's just a little smaller shoe in the door. Activating the ID can still be required by software vendors. Laws can be passed that will require you turn it on before making cyber transactions, etc...

The change doesn't affect Microsoft's ability to force you to turn it on. Either that or run Linux....
