Fred, Re: I find all of the hoopla about privacy to be quite comical

I would say they don't what is happening around them, and
don't know the issue they are talking about.

However, it seems that Intel being burnt by the FDIV bug
respond a bit too soon this time, IMO. I just don't see any
technical problem of its original setting.

Doubled my Intel position right after the news came out about Intel backing down. They did the right thing after doing the wrong thing in the first place. Looking for a retest of the old highs at 143 shortly.
All the best, Jim

Fred - Re: " It must be very sad to go thru life as paranoid as some of these folks....kind of makes me feel sorry for them. "

I'm sure you're feeling real sad for Scumbria.

I'll bet he is too.

paul, been a lurker for some time and have always appreciated
your comments regarding intel. The stock has pulled back from its highs despite great earnings (real profits) and has been trending down. Only when intel stated that they would allow the id portion to
be deleted did the stock start trending upwards. the public perception of privacy invasion on the internet cannot be underestimated. the public are the ones who are truly paranoid. The privacy, convenience
and tremendous amount of information are some of the main reasons
for its explosive growth. Feel very strongly that intel has been undervalued by the current market.

The privacy issue IS a serious one, though the PIII issue is not. Perhaps the European laws regarding privacy will cause US to address this issue seriously. Our commerce with EU is to some degree, perhaps significantly, in jeopardy unless we (USA) address the privacy issue consistently in line with EU laws.
