With a PE of 468 (according to yahoo) do you think it is a little rich? Although a 1000 dollar investment in 100 shares back in early 1994 would now be worth $534,400. Isn't hindsight wonderful!

Does anyone here use AOL? If so, have the recent steps they have taken helped to improve performance? Does anyone know the membership count to date?

What do you think AOL is?..... just an ISP....a telephone company?

No.....it is an online service provider...for the masses who do not want to plow through the Internet...but want the information served up to them tidily.

It is broadcast medium (like tv/radio) except that they pay less or EVEN get paid ...for content...PLUS it gets revenues from advertising (what most of the net is counting on....is ad $... just look at ONSL willing to sell at cost..just to attract eyeballs for advertisers!!)

It is subscription medium...meaning people will pay to use it....like magazines....

and it is a distribution medium: quasi retailer...with all kinds of partnerships where they make not only a guarantee..but a % of sales...

you are thinking of giving it up...because ISP's are lowering their prices.....???????????

No way! hold on....think about all the revenue streams...not just one...

and if that does not convince ya....think globally....AOL is international....and you ain't see nuthin' yet!

Man...this kinda reminds me of the days back in early 90's whenI was trying to explain why I was buying MSFT at every opportunity.... you wait for an opportunity for a "no brainer" like this one!! And if 5X in a year...doesn't convince you...with their subscriber base growing...like a grass fire......then think about compu-serve, ICQ, Instant Messenger, etc etc...growth potential...

Mary (who is having a great MSFT day! hooray!!)
