S3 reported wider than expected losses.

news.com

Will we drop in sympathy because the whole graphic's sector is obviously screwed OR will we soar because we're weathering the "consolidation" unscathed? Place your bets!

Re: "The Pattern"

I agree that "the pattern" may be reappearing. For those of you not familiar with "the pattern", here's what has happened in the past:

1.) Thread calms down from previous "pattern" and becomes relatively quiet.

2.) Just before big news (earnings, acquistion, V3, etc.), stock perks up and everyone becomes very happy.

3.) One old-timer uses the term "break even" or "in the black" in a SI message.

THIS IS WALL STREET'S SIGNAL TO SELL!!!

4.) Stock dives back to 12. SI thread erupts in cat calls and recriminations.

5.) Repeat.

Don't worry Vincent, if you look at the last time this occurred, you'll see that _I_ was the one that sent us into a tailspin.

P.S. There's supposed to be some subtle humor in the above post. If it doesn't come thru upon first reading, try reading it again. If it is still not funny then send me scathing flame mail.

P.P.S. Actually, I don't want scathing flame mail. That was more (alleged) humor.

Why so quiet?

We've been here before.

"This board is deafeningly quiet. What happens to all those that went long?"

Simple - we lost our asses on this stock and we moved on. Things look bullish for TDFX for now, but I'm willing to bet that it will drop right back to $12 within two weeks. This is a sector of the marketplace that has simply fallen out of favor with investors. Maybe someday that will change but not anytime soon, I fear.

Regards.
