tm: I heard the whole interview. The Adaptec CFO said that FC was good only for long distances, and is a dead technology. Adaptec could build no business plan for FC. SCSI is where it is at.

My interpretation: Adaptec owns SCSI, and will live and die (more likely) with SCSI. They apparently have convinced themselves that FC is a flash in the pan, despite the oncoming SAN revolution. They are touting SCSI over FC, but do you think anyone really believes this BS?

Mark Haines claimed that FC has never emerged and ADPTs CFO claimed to have gone in another direction than FC. Claiming quality not distance. Have they been out to lunch over the past year? Sounds like Haines needs to do his homework.
