Ice -- as I recall, Vinik left to run a fund with fewer of the restrictions placed on Fidelity -- meaning no holds barred.

So I come back to what H James has been saying -- that there is institutional money in here. Here is my take: There are net funds playing like day traders and there are hedge funds playing like hedge funds. The institutions pump and dump. The hedge funds build really, really big boxes when they want to run the stock down. But when do you cover? Do you build the box, sell the shares and then cover? Or do you sell the shares, keep the short position and then buy back the shares and do it again? The down trend suggests that hedge funds are playing an increasingly important role in taking us down to earth -- that is my take.
