Colleen, from what I understoood it, American/Belize citizens were always prime targets, with the hopefull of Belize govt. employees a 2nd hopefull. Nobody in Belize makes enough money except govt. employees, to hold a mortgage. Thats why the residential areas that PanAm/AFG wanted to build in were so American/amentity slanted. They are retirement, rental, vacation homes mostly for American citizens. Seems as though the Belize Govt. is taking an interest in AFG now for disaster rebuilding/new housing. However, like I said, not many people in Belize can even afford a $30,000.00 house.
