I would have liked to see a more pro-active discussion on Adaptec's part in anticipation of the questions Haines and company would ask. But that opportunity is over for now and the volume was really very good, indicating accumulation. Remember, institutional ownership dropped from around 88 percent a year ago to about 60 percent and maybe lower. With a very good quarter on the books and a positive outlook, the stock now might look attractive to have back on the books. It looks attractive to me. Several months ago it would have been difficult to get anyone to bet that the stock price would be back to 15 by now. If this is accumulation we see, there are educated guesses by professional investors that this is just another plateau on the way up the hill. But it may be a long ride up. Will require some patience.

ADPT needs to put a better spokesperson out there than Andy Brown to communicate what the company is doing. He may be a great CFO, but he needs to stick to his knitting and let a "sales face" dynamo hype the company and slam reporters like Mark Haines. He should have cleaned Haines' clock on the year over year business by telling him straight up that he did not know what he was talking about and that he had missed the boat. Missed opportunity beyond any doubt, and it probably affected the stock price today. Thoroughbreds don't run with their tails between their legs.
