They probably arent making any investments in infrastructure. I dont know what Amzn has exactly but a full Sap implementation is 30 million +.

BTW I think the real competition for Amzn are the publishers. Glenn and all are right, since Amzn doesnt build anything the advantage is to whoever is highest on the chain. Of course having to go to multiple publishers is not as convenient, + they are in a different business entirely. So, who knows.
