And that's what proper preparation would have accomplished for the interview--hard facts in anticipation of this great opportunity to communicate effectively Adaptec's successes and growth potential. Adaptec's history is producing hardware known for its excellence primarily by specialists. The advent of CD creation software gives (or could give) the company much greater visibility to the average consumer. For that reason alone, Adaptec should look at every opportunity--such as yesterday's interview--to shine. Forget the safe harbor stuff when doing interviews. Brag. This was a genuine PR opportunity. An advertising golden opportunity. It needs to put forward its best spokesperson on those occasions and be prepared to beat the drums. There may have been a feeling that "our performance speaks for itself", when in fact relatively few people out there know what Adaptec does, as the interviewer--his job is talking to company spokespeople--demonstrated. Adaptec should put one of your investors on your staff or hire a good PR person. jelrod3 makes some good points. And that's my two cents. :0) Starowl
