KDD Corp. to Develop High-Capacity Network, NEN Reports Tokyo, Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) -- KDD Corp. is developing a telecommunications network that will have 16 million times the data-transmission capacity of current networks and provides a foundation for multimedia transmissions, Nikkei English News reported. KDD will begin developing the network this spring and hopes to have it available for commercial use by 2005. It plans to invest 100 billion yen ($880 million) in the network over the next 10 years, NEN said. KDD, Japan's biggest provider of international telephone calls, has set up a joint venture with WinStar Communications Inc. and Sumitomo Corp. to provide local telecommunication services in Japan for corporate users. I think you meant to reference Project Angel which uses 10 MHz at PCS frequency levels of 1.9 GHz vs. 10 GHz you mentioned. Also important for thread readers to remember T has widest single 100 MHz channel footprint at 38 GHz whither or not they use it to go off-net in TCG cities, develop more cities, buy more of it, or sell it as non-strategic.
