Hi everybody here is some stuff to think about from Briefing.com

11:01 ET Goldman Reduces Equity Weighting: Goldman Sachs lowers equity rating in recommended portfolio from 57% to 55%. Says Brazil is immediate source of concern, as firm believes situation there has moved much closer to the "melt down" scenario in recent days.

11:00 ET Dow -14, Nasdaq -4, S&P -1.54: Indices continue to sag and particularly telling is that CPQ is now -1 1/4 despite beating earnings estimates by six cents...it is easy to read too much into today's lack of any followthrough but it is a bit disturbing...techs are now broadly lower, and breadth is negative as decliners outpace advancers...the Russell 2000 small cap is +1.79, however...Dow Transports -8, SOX semiconductor index -8.21...EBAY +74.

10:30 ET Dow +9, Nasdaq -0.5, S&P +1.75: All the indices went negative a few minutes ago....the selling was widespread profit-taking in the face of the gains, not any program trades or other factors...somewhat surprising given the early start and late gains yesterday...breadth is near flat now...market "leader" EBAY now +75...CPQ +1/2 has lost some of its early gains, while DIS sags to -3/4.

PS I think we are going lower today after we bounce back into the noon to 2 pm hour.
