bp: it's just another one of those confusing things that people lump into one category. There are a pile of different technologies out there that "sound like" they're doing the same thing when in essence they turn out to be part of the infrastructure and not the remote access world.

Bottom line is after the private corporation I'm now working for did a lot of research they found that they could save almost $7,000/month by deploying BT at the main office and 3 of the key outer offices, one of which is in Dallas. Oh yea - and also giving a client to the pilot at the airport. It took what seemed like forever to analyze all those past phone bills as well as all the other options but BT won out as saving money as opposed to costing money. Oh well - the MIS and I knew it right off but the channels involved in making purchases are incredibly complex and time consuming.

It sure will be nice having those people at the outer offices connected seamlessly where we can just hit an extension # and talk to them as if they were right here.

Anyhow we're about three weeks away from bringing this new server online:
ionet.net
(the piece with the red on the back is almost 5' tall)
and we've got to change out all the desktops on three floors but I'm having a blast being able to work around this stuff. There's a few boxes in my office that are full of laptops too.
