barb, valid points. however, dell does pay something for the bank to take on the debt. it isn't free. i'd also bet the rebate comes from dell b/c they are the ones with the most incentive to issue the rebate. of course, this is speculation...

the boxmakers are getting creative, for sure...

A very questionable (at least as far as its numbers are concerned Canadian financial company is involved in Dell's financing activities. Some of my "forensic accounting" type friends have been encouraging me to join them in a spirited "dig", but too much on my plate. What they have shown me has been more than interesting. (g)
