The Motley Fool Adaptec thread has been mostly quiet recently, but a nice post from it a few days ago responding to a message asking whether Adaptec was still a good hold after the run-up:

Prev post gives great overview of ADPT's market. I am in corporate position
where all I do all day is purchase new hardware. I don't see FC or Firewire as
any competition now or in near future. There is not enough business to go
around(in those other areas)Thats why ADPT got out. ADPT is king of SCSI
which I believe will be around for at least the next five years. Disk drives will
have to get much faster.
Also, ADPT has some new pdts coming out soon like Ultra160(160
meg/sec-Thats 10% of 2 gig HD in 2 sec). These new pdts will give FC like
speeds & distance and still be backward compatable will old drives.
I would hold on to stock. They have made double confirmation of a
turn-a-round, they where very dependent on SCSI sales to support their other
R&D areas(like FC-Satelite). Now they have become a profit machine by
focusing on the high profit SCSI market.
I can go on, but you get the point.
Mark

And yet again, IBES estimates are raised:

nasdaq.com

Looks like at least a couple of analysts raised their numbers in the last day or two, including annual numbers - anybody seen any reports of this? As I recall, FY99 numbers are up from about 45 cents at the low to 62 cents now. Not a great number, but a big improvement.
