David I like your "hat he chewed"! I understand that the offer of
Barrick expires at 12.01 am on the 29th. That is 1 minute after midnight tonight. The large number of shares that have traded above $5.00 since the first offer of $4.00 would lead me to believe that very few have tendered especially since they could have sold them above $5.00 easily for the last two weeks.

************ TO ALL THREADSTERS AND LURKERS ******************

I thought I would take a little pole from all who are here posting and lurking. How many of you are going to tender or have already done so? I will try to keep an acCurate record over the next 48 hours. All I ask is that if you are going to or plan to that you post directly to me by PM in case I don't get to read every post. For those who are not on SI but will send me an email I will include your numbers in the tally. (I hope I am not going to get burrYed here.)

I will update you all after 24 hours and at the end of the day on Saturday 8:00 pm EDST. That is Newfoundland time in case your wondering. This may help us get an idea of what is happening on the real scene. If you post to me privately we will not clutter up the thread with yeas and nays! I will give you the total count anyway. If it is done anonamously there will be no back lash against those who may have tendered. This will be private and hopefully somewhat reflective of reality. If you would, please tell me the number of shares you tendered too as that would be helpful in determining if there is any chance of Barrick getting close to the 50% + 1 they want.

For the lurkers my email address is rgosmond@roadrunner.nf.net. Thanks to all for your contribution and lets have some fun.

As an example only the post should be like this:

yes 2000 shares.

or

no.

If you are so inclined I can put up with a few extra comments like "not on your life" or "over my dead body" etc. This will help give me a sense in the determination of your vote. This will likely be accurate to + or - 50% 1 out of 99 times but it should be fun.

Ray

David <<........... and ABX can do what they like>> - including, presumably waiving the condition that they get 51%. Let's say they get less, but enough to replace the Board of Directors. They may then extend the offer. There are a lot of possibilities, including a group of (then) minority shareholders refusing to tender - but Barrick could play hardball by delaying drilling until they had 90 % when they could apply a squeeze out. dd...
