LindyBill, I am getting the feeling the net stocks will
continue to outperform the big techs. I had expected
Greenspan to shoot down the net stocks but he did not. My
feeling was that even if he had tried very hard, the
nets would have still gone up. Now that he does not sound
that negative (actually positive on the dominant companies),
I am actually thinking about trying a few trades on them.

It can't be riskier than options. I think AOL should go
much higher (even though I don't like their setup of the
browser). I might add it or Xoom, Infoseek, Globe etc.

BTW--Although I think MSFT/Intel/dell/CSCo are better
investments, AOL is going to outperform all of these. I guess
the consolation in holding the big techs is that there is
a lot less downside risk than holding AOL/Yahoo etc.
I think even if the general market goes down, the big net
plays are going to continue flying (UNBELIEVABLE!).
More and more fund holders are going to get pulled in or
"suckered" in by the retail holders.
Demand is going to continue growing for the nets. JMHO.

OT Although I still might buy AOL stock---I just ditched their
internet service. Just too frusterating especially since I could
not get the stand alone browser to work.
After i returned to my old ISP, I realized how much faster it
is in my area. AOL was only fast in the sign on--after that it was
a snail.

>>Moved money from Dell and AOL to MSFT and CSCO the first of the year, and glad I did

Can't understand why. Here's the '99 return numbers through yesterday:

dell: 28.7%
aol: 9.0% (if you use the composite close of 160 for '98)
msft: 25.5%
csco: 17.3%

Seems to me that any money you pulled out of dell just hurt you. On the other hand, it's hard to screw up the allocation when you're moving between these great Gorillas and Kings. Up 22.4% ytd; it's obscene <vbg>.
