FEd chairman gives green light to INTERNET MANIA: _____________________ In addition to the Yahoo!-GeoCities and AOL news, the Internet group received a boost from a most unlikely source. Referring to Web stocks in comments to the Senate Budget Committee, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said: "...undoubtedly, some of these small companies, whose stock prices are going through the roof, will succeed. And they well may justify even higher prices." But the Fed head remarked that "The vast majority are almost sure to fail." We don't belong in the latter camp. He was certainly talking about some other stock.
