gw,

IMO Leland Wilson was in his typical form ie not feeding us hungry investors with the information that we all want to know about.

However, knowing what I know he is best off to keep his mouth shut and wrap up the negotiation. Its not a matter of IF but WHEN.

The question that I have is just how effective a new domestic partner is going to be in getting all the Viagra failures back into the Dr's office. Based on script counts, MUSE NEVER picked up any of the Viagra failures.

The new partner is going to have to use advertising lines such as,

"Did you fail on Viagra?"

"Or are you concerned about its potential side effects?"

"Did you know there is a safe non-needle alternative?"

"If not then see your doctor about MUSE the safe and local alternative for a local problem."

I think that clever marketing directed at the over 55 population can really revitalize our anemic domestic sales.

gw,

We probably will know exactly where that plant lawsuit stands when the next Q form gets filed. I don't see it as any type of major problem for Vivus.

I was told by VVUS after the CC that VVUS will break even If they dont get milestone payments..Profits if they do...We all know they get something so if there running even 1 milestone translates into
16 cents per share...
looks to me that milestone payment will last long enough to get muse up and going in all territories.....
LEE has finaly got the BILL GATES speach were 1 step away from disaster after every Q now all he can do is better .......Thank 1st BOSTON for that.......
I also heard that CHARLIE O is very excited calling VVUS a new company completely turned around...As for the Partnership just like the earnings they';ll be no peeps till its in print
WE CANT COMPLAIN THERE GETTING PROFFESSIONAL......
i thinks its ok after thinking about it for a while...

gw,

I believe that a major part of the European problem involves the Astra-Zenecca merger. I'm surprised that nobody asked Wilson anything about the new companies ability to market MUSE now that they are the third largest pharmaceutical company in the world.

I believe that it is going to at least take another month for Astra and Zeneca to get their house in order including to eliminate redundant positions and to settle on specific marketing stradegies regarding MUSE and all their drugs combined for that matter.

Astra earlier decided it was best to wait for the Viagra noise to die down in Europe before launching MUSE. Now they are a differnet company and they will have to agree on an efficient marketing stradegy as it pertains to MUSE.

I have been told that Astra-Zeneca is going to have a big meeting in Sweden next month of all their European sales people. The sales and marketing of MUSE is going to be one of drugs discussed. We should be hearing about this next month after this meeting. We now need to listen to what Astra-Zenecca (not Leland Wilson) has to say concerning MUSE in Europe. Vivus has no say in this matter and probably knows less than some of us here who have made some good contacts with Astra in the past.

Vivus has always seemed fairly ignorant when it came down to information regarding Janssen and Astra. It's probably because they really DON'T know anything concerning their plans. Vivus's only obligation is to fill their MUSE orders and produce and ship out requested product. Nowhere in their contracts with Astra or Janssen does it say that Astra or Janssen has to divulge ANY information to Vivus concerning individual country sales or stradegies. In fact it looks to me like Canada was the first country where Janssen really went out of their way to provide Vivus with information and Vivus took full advantage of the information provided.
