Aloysius
If the market values JDS at half of Uniphase then we get about a $63 Can stock price. That doesn't seem like much of a deal to me. My real concern however is the RSP issue for us Canucks. The news release described JDS Uniphase Canada as "a wholly owned subsidiary". I'm just speculating but that sounds like foreign content for RSPs to me. Also, I didn't see anything about a TSE listing and I believe CBC Newsworld reported the listing would be on NAZ only. If this becomes foreign content for Cdn tax purposes, this is a real loss for Cdn investors. The opportunities for growth amongst Cdn tech firms are already way too limited.

Please note: This is opinion. I may not have all the facts quite right.

JDS has at least twice the growth as unph....so why do we get half the shares.....to value the merger on market cap is not very smart.

I feel as though I'm being ripped off....unless someone can explain to me different.

So far I think this merger sucks.
