Not that is matters, but when the ad was still on the web, the page stated that it was web only commercial. They even bragged about it as being unique in that respect.

Wouldn't surprise me if Sony is sandbagging Connectix in order to get some leverage on (VGS beneficiary) Apple with regard to FireWire license terms.

Sony was a co-developer of firewire and already has an unlimited license(along with four other companies).

I believe Apple has already sold a FireWire license to several large companies, ie Sony. Those who already have it are not required to pay the $1.00 per port on each FireWire device.
