The other ERP vendors and SI's aren't struggling to find suitable PSFT, ORCL and SAP employees. They're struggling to find people who can implement the software. That's very different.

I would be willing to bet money that PSFT is not laying off any consultants and would probably hire qualified consultants tomorrow if they applied there. They said they're laying off admin, sales support and marketing support. There was probably excess admin and it makes sense to layoff sales and marketing support since sales are declining. If you don't have the same number of prospects you certainly don't need the same number of sales support.

Sad today at Peoplesoft. They are building all these new buildings and laying people off at the same time. Strange.
