one JDS share $60CND + one UNPH share $80US = $180CND/2 = $90CND ??

If this is a merger of equals...why as JDS shareholders should we expect a windfall? $90 CND couldn't possibly be in the cards.

If that were true...Uniphase shareholders will be crying in their watered down yankee suds. Imagine them trading their $80 US shares for $90 CND (equivalent) shares...I don't think so.

This deal requires more explanation. Long term it looks great, shares will jump tomorrow no doubt, but open at $90 CND...don't bank on it. If I'm wrong..I'll bid JDS and short Uniphase.
