He saw that they were continually trying to get around them making excuses for and justifying their abominable acts. So He went out of his way like a loving, and patient Father, to explicitly list and explain many do's and don'ts. Even while God was delivering them out of their bondage (Slavery),which they had been in for over 400 yrs., many of them still continued in their disbelief and disobedience. That is why it took them 40 yrs. instead of 40 days to cross over to the promised land. And disobedience was what caused Moses never to step foot alive, in the promised land. For sure Del, God made it very clear about how the captured enemies were to be treated. There were also laws set down as to how one should deal with brothers,strangers and sojourners, servants and bondsmen . There were many laws and guidelines set down by God governing the way a man ought to live. Many of those laws and guidelines were ignored and or subverted by the people, and they still are to this day. Nothing new under the sun! As to your specific point in question,..It's in there.., God also in that case, left no room for doubt. Except in the vain imagination of the devious. Shalom...><>
