Re: "Finally excited about INPR again!"

Now if the rest of the investment community will get that attitude!

Mark I'm kinda glad the market reacted last two days as it did. Needham & Co got impatient Q398 when Inprise deferred that 2mill I think they been out to get INPR ever since. Next week should be rough but I'm willing to bet that there is a lot more interest in Inprise now than there has been in a long time?

This stock has been easy pickens for the MM and the shorts for quite awhile now but I believe that will soon come to an end. I think Inprise will make up for lost time onces it starts recovering. This is not going to be one of the ones I want to miss out on. Timing is everything so I choose to play it safe by being in til it happens rather than trying to pick the correct time. I'll leave that to the shorts to get caught in.

This earnings was positive IMO for a few very important reasons:

1) Japan has been way down for Inprise, understandably so.
2) They had a huge increase in the enterprise area yoy.
3) Y2K buying will slow after the first have of this year and enterprise software should pick up thereafter.

borland.com and "ecommerce"

i went to borland.com and what I saw when trying to order products was a frieking joke, and what I consider to be a true misuse and abuse of the word ecommerce. First of all, not to mention the misspellings, you can't order more than one product at a time WITHOUT HAVING TO ENTER ALL OF YOUR ORDER INFORMATION OVER AGAIN. For ex, buy delphi, fill out all of your order info, buy jbuilder at the same time and you have to leave the screen and start all over again. no option to retain any buyer information. are these people complete morons or what.

my opinion, FIRE ALL PEOPLE that authorized the use of ecommerce language. anyone willing to bet if yocam has ever even looked at borland.com??? Either way, he is still a loser for letting the company disgrace itself like this. What a shame, he is screwing not only his shareholders, but also current and potential customers.

Please check it out for yourself and COMPLAIN TO "MANAGEMENT". When I called customer service, she tells me that "everyone is complaining about it..." then she tells me to call the webmaster because "they aren't listening to me" I mean can you people believe this? What a disgrace. If you are a shareholder, call them and let them know that we are sick of this shit and aren't going to take it anymore. I am so pissed off. I can't believe this investment is going down the shute. All this great technology, and what do we have, five stinking dollar stock price.

Re Borland.com

I have to agree with Mark Abelson on this one.. The ecomerce site is really bad. If they are going to try and pander to the investment community as an e-comerce player, they are going to have to look it. Here's what I mean by that:

Have Borland products and sell other things too, complementary products. Sign marketing agreements with other software companies.

Zap up that web site. Have a "checkout" system.

Sign a marketing agreement with Amazon.com...We'll link your books if you'll like our software. Hell, just have a press release that states you have a marketing agreement with Amazon.com.

Start counting and bragging about increased web traffic.

Give away a Borland Starter CD, with evaluation copies of everything.

If the current www.borland.com site is what they are talking about as borland.com, it has all the sex and appeal of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on plain white bread..
