Vote is still out.

Any thoughts on what cpq.com will do for the stock..also what AV spin off will do for stockholders? Will we participate in ipo as LU to AT&T. I really loved that benefit!!!!!

Thousands of investors may have successfully traded Dell on and off, but I maintain it is a rare individual that has ridden Dell for most of its run.

Actually, you got me with that one. I was in DELL in 1991 and got out late in 1992, missed the big tank in early 1993. I was so busy patting myself on the back that I missed good entry points over the next several years, sticking instead with CPQ, MSFT, INTC primarily. Finally got back into dell in 1997, but by that time I had missed half of the ride.

I was joking about the internets - my point was that there is no reason to base an investment decision purely on past performance, since that is exactly why I stayed out of DELL for so long. And it is unlikely that the next 3 years will be the same as the last 3 for DELL. Both CPQ and DELL have strong business models, and I don't think we know how that will play out. I'm holding both for now...
