Robert,

nice story...i heard COHU used to sell automotive parts in the 1970's when it was traded on the AMEX...what do you think COHU management should do with their cash chest??? over the last 5 years i seen COHU's cash jump from 20 mil to 90 mil, but still no acquisitions or massive stock buyback programs. do you think an internet business would be good???

sidenote: any updates on that testing wafer technology that was suppose to make back end testing obsolete????

Bob----Wish you were here. Plenty of beer and fun to be had at
the Phoenix Open. Still time to catch Sat and the finale Sun.
Sorry but the Scottsdale Airport can not tie down any more private jets .

Good for you and the rest of us COHU fans, myself included.
I did sell off some today to reduce margin a fraction. I'm too
old to have that hanging over my head. If my other biggy TFS
would get its act together, life would be simpler. Did buy some
more KLIC and SFAM and CMOS. TER is too pricey for me now.

Hey--ADEX is due to pick up your spirits soon !!!

Rick

Thanks for an excellent historical retrospective Bob -- understand that I am long (although about nine fewer years than you!) and was speaking a bit tongue-in-cheek with respect to the euphoria.

I learned much from your post and appreciate you putting it all down.

Good weekend,

Chris

Bob, love your attitude!!

I own 13 different semi-equip companies.
I did not "discover" COHU until just a few months back.
I was looking to find some semi-equip companies that seemed to be the cheapest at the time that I didn't already own.
I have been buying a little of this a little of that every couple weeks since last fall. Each time I would rework the numbers and make a list of the companies I would be buying. At points I have been selling some of my older larger positions which I thought were way ahead of the rest of the sector (i.e. NVLS, AMAT), and put the money in the lesser valued ones. I have been doing this to try to stay within the sector, but maximize my percentage returns.
COHU looks to be the cheapest in terms of current price relative to earnings power. COHU had $.85-.90 quarters last peak, not even the big guys had earnings like that, and look at their current prices.
Or look at current prices relative to last cycle peak prices, COHU is still WAY below and others are at new all time highs. I know I am "preaching to the choir" here, but wanted to state my opinion. I think COHU can/will play "catch-up".

Friday evening I discovered something strange about my portfolio.
In current value terms COHU is now my NUMBER ONE semi-equip holding!!!!

COHU still looks to be one of the cheaper semi-equips.
I am long, getting longer!

Good luck COHU longs!

Eric.
