From Mercury's last Q

Shared Storage Business Unit

Mercury's emerging Shared Storage Business Unit (SSBU) achieved $692,000 of revenue for the
quarter. In November 1998, SSBU began shipment of SANergy(tm), Mercury's patent-pending
storage area network operating system. Using SANergy, enterprises that depend upon processing
large files across several systems can move those files faster than previously possible even with
Gigabit Ethernet alternatives. Environments that currently require large amounts of data to be
replicated across multiple machines, such as large-scale web or file servers, can benefit from the
ability to access a single copy of those files at true media speeds, without incurring overhead and
delays of LAN protocols. SANergy has been well-received by the industry in the first few months
of promotion. Mercury has been developing its distribution channel and now has over 20 active
resellers of the SANergy product.
