nihil, You make a good case for the State to get out of the social worker business. You make another good case against the State having the power to tax individual incomes and personal property. Without that power, the State would have no way to "legally" rob individual's wealth, which would then be sought by attorneys in civil cases, as the State would not have "deep pockets", nor the potential liability it creates by intruding into other people's lives. The greater the attempt of altruism, the more harm to the individual. FT
