Rocky, I posted this today over on the MF IOM thread... VectorVest is just plain wrong about Iomega in their "automated analysis". Garbage In - Garbage Out! Thanks again for all your well timed deception and continued foolishness. Mel

Subject: Re: VectorVest Trashes Iomega Date:

Mike, thanks for the rework on the Vector Vest analysis of the value of IOM. Good work. Vector Vest should have the same warning as the ads for the Psychic Friends Network... "for entertainment purposes only" as their automated analyses are only as good as the basic information fed into them. Just like the good ol' "biorhythm" programs written for the Atari, Commodore, and Apple 2 computers some 20 years ago. Entertaining, but that's about all. Your numbers are much more realistic and I do think that we will see a return to 10 and above in the next several months. All it will take will be some good news of new products and alliances from Iomega. I will predict a few of what these might be:

1. An announcement of at one or two companies that will build-in the Clik! drive into their handheld Win-CE computers or PDAs. HWP and CPQ will be the most likely prospects. Maybe others as well...

2. The new Agfa Digital Camera will come to market with built-in Clik! drive and will be a resounding success. It also could have new features not previously announced. Other camera companies might just make some surprise announcements that they also will include Clik! built-in models... Olympus? Kodak? Nikon? (How about a new Iomega digital camera?) Time will tell.

3. The USB Clik! drive will become available from NEC and will become a welcome addition to the newest line of USB capable Mega-pixel digital cameras (without built-in Clik! drives).

4. MP3 music players/digital audio recorders using Clik! built-in drives will be released by several asian companies. These could well take the place of current micro-cassette recorders.

5. Iomega and a major music recording firm will form an Internet Music download site which will allow "encrypted MP3 and MP4" music files to be downloaded over the Internet. This will essentially will make Iomega an "Internet Company" which could have great potential in making IOM stock price increase to previously unseen levels.

6. Some big surprises will be forthcoming from R & D possibly resulting from the Syquest intellectual asset purchase. Also, expect some surprises from Nomai. I would imagine that Iomega will continue to provide media for previous Syquest drives... after all the money IS in the Disks! Nomai was already producing disks for Syquest so this is not a big stretch to see this happening in the 2nd Quarter.

7. There will be some high end boxes that will include the new IDE or USB version (not yet announced) of the Zip 250. The US Navy and other Govt. purchasers would jump at getting built-in Zip 250s.

8. Jodie Glore has some other surprise announcements up his sleeve... as per his being very couched in what else was being developed at Iomega. Expect... another big announcement around the New York Computer Expo in June, 1999! This show has been used for such news in past years.

9. The USB Zip will show excellent sales and will help bring about some nice earnings increases in the 1st and 2nd Qtrs.

10. Expect some good choices for replacing the vacant positions in the VP levels at Iomega. Jodie Glore will bring on some excellent talent to run these very important divisions.

So, all in all, I think it makes sense to hold IOM for a while longer. Best of Luck to us all...Mel
