Daytrader success statistics must be heavily influenced by the market trends; trends may even be the determining factor.

I often listen in to the live daytrader chat rooms (#daytraders, for example, or even #the_final_frontier)where some people post their trades as they occur. Nearly all are longs, as far as I can tell. Of course they should be making money as on most days prices end higher than they began.

When/if the market reverses direction, the truth regarding the viability of daytrading will become apparent.

This leads to investment thoughts on the EGRP's and AMTD's of the world.

Could you describe the machanics of the trades that caused this and what you did to avoid it?
