You ought to read Lani Guinier's Lift Every Voice. It talks of the evil of one group dominating another group and blocking fair representation of said blocked group. Just because you have 7 million in the Bay area doesn't give you the right to control lesser populated areas in our system of government. Would you like the 10 million in NYC to control your 7 million? Of course not. That is one reason each state has equal power to amend the constitution and equal power in the Senate. Sorry to tell you that Alabama has as much power as California on these constitutional issues.
