My apologies for the tone, didnt mean it. You make some accurate points except I take issue with one:

Dell is really more like an "assembler" than a manufacturer. They buy parts and put them together - thats it (about a minute to put together a Dell computer). Their automation allows them to buy these components more efficiently and (to some extent) manage the logistics process a little better. The dell cos is maybe a 1-2% improvement over their competitors, thats it. Now there is more to Dell than mfg efficiency I understand that - marketing, etc is very important, and there is a small element of design in their product line that amzn doesnt have, but to classify Dell as a heavy manufacturer or something is a bit of a misnomer, they are a commodity parts seller mostly. JMO
