Gentlemen:
I would like to remind you that we are in the throws of the startup of a completely revolutionary communications system. Yours/our focus should be directed at IRIDIUM NEXT. Until then...deal with the gyrations. I.. like many of you have been following IRIDIUM for years, and there is absolutely no question in my mind where we are going to be in FIVE years. Looking back and happy to be shareholders. Be excited...the future is here! Yes....it could go to 28..it go to 22...god forbid it could go to 1. But it also could be 400 by 2004. The upside is explosive. It's always struck me as a strange phenomenon when individuals purchase stock with their own hard earned money, after supposidly doing RESEARCH and then when it's down below their purchase price they quickly become resigned to the notion that the world is coming to an end. This is the stock market, otherwise known in some circles as a form of GAMBLING. I'll but my money on IRIDIUM as the odds look extremely good through my eyes. Imagine if you will....automobiles outfitted with hardware that will not only supply the traditional phone services but internet and GPS data. Motorola's shift to extremely TINY cell phones confirms to me that they are developing MAJOR miniaturization technology which will be employed by IRIDIUM NEXT, if not sooner. 256 KPS is some major bandwidth. From what I've read..and it's been a considerable amount, it sounds to me as though IRIDIUM is not concerned with this first generation other than using it as the guinnea (SP?) pig. They are not even concerned if 2 sats a month go down. Chump change to them as they are looking to the future..not tomorrow or the next day. So...I suggest staying the course and take pride in stepping up to the plate and playing ball. The first inning hasn't even ended.

In my opinion..

Jack:

Looks like the subscriber who has not been billed yet is finding the high price for a handset to be more and more reasonable! Such a deal, no wonder the bottom line is light at I* to date.

As has been pointed out, the system is still going through shake down. Do you know the amount of full scale testing they were able to do prior to all 66 sats on line? Word has it not much. That would mean they are only 5 or 6 months into beta (or gamma or whatever) testing. I look for them to get on with the billing software soon. It should be interesting to see how far back they attempt to bill once the system is supporting. They could see a drastic reduction in system usage if they slam everyone with bills from day one.

Long race yet.
