Gas and oil companies??? Man they're not in favor right now. You may have to wait a few years for a good return on your investment. If you are interested in pipeline companies, check out WMB. They used their pipeline right-of-way to build the fiber optics network that was sold to WCOM. As part of the deal with WCOM, they were locked-out of the communications business for three years. The lock-out period ended last year, and since then they rebuilt a greatly improved network.See the map below for details of their present network and plans for the 32,000 mile fiber optics network due to be completed in year 2000.

To Ravel: Thanx for the outstanding article. Technically
the stock has been performing beautifully the last 3 to
4 days!! DCLK was mentioned this morning on CNBC as
one of 4 "risky" internet stocks and CMGI as one of
a group of 4 "very risky" issues. This garbage came
out of the mouth of a clown from the Wall Street
Journal. This indicates to me the BIG BOYS are trying
to bring these issues a tad lower so they can load up
ahead of the run to $200. DCLK may in fact finish the
day in the 100 plus range. If they do accomplish their
short term mission we may indeed see a stock split
announcement from them Very very SOON!! Good Luck and
May the Great Trades Be Yours!!
