What a nice way to put it. Penni and I talked about this a lot ages ago. We wanted a spiritual dimension, we wanted community, but we didn't want a lot of the hocum, absolutism and claptrap that go along with lots of the traditional forms of worship. I want to be able to feel in one part of my mind that what I am doing when I am emotional IS irrational- I think that is a strength. It can be confusing, but it is also good to always feel the rational "overmind" if you will. Maybe being women we are more dual, less focused on linear and absolutely consistent thought, more synergistic- I don't know- I just know that very few things are all or nothing for me.

Christine:

Evoking memories and events in one's mind that brings back certain feelings is not irrational, nor is it tying into some ethereal spirit world. Those people existed.

A spirit world relationship would involve something that never existed in this space-time continuum and was totally fabricated. Perhaps like having a really close "spritual" friendship with Sherlock Holmes or James Bond.
