DELL vs. COMPAQ ? I am new in here, and hope to become more educated about stocks I own and will look into owning. I like and own both DELL and CPQ, but what I'm wondering is " Why would a new investor choose CPQ over DELL ? In terms of growth and price targets, I just don't see CPQ showing the ability to keep us. Any viewpoints would be greatly appreciated.

Red,
I bought my young son a $550 box for Christmas which has more than enough of everything for trading on the web, editing pictures, doing giant spreadsheets, etc., etc. In fact it has twice the speed of the one I'm using now, the same internal memory, and a faster modem, and I've been trading with this online including day trading all year long. SO... I don't know what you have available for $1K but THAT amount of money would get a machine with even more horsepower right now.
