As the newest addition to Vixel's established line of Fibre Channel products, the Vixel 8100 offers IT managers a cost-effective starting-point to implement fast, reliable, and scalable switched-Fibre Channel networks.
The Vixel 8100's interoperability between switches and hubs builds on existing architecture to enable full-speed Fibre Channel networking. Drop-in switching achieves the simplest possible migration from an arbitrated loop to switched-fabric, eliminating the need for reconfiguration of other components, to deliver maximum speed and scalability to Fibre Channel-based storage networks. The Vixel 8100 will be available in April through Vixel's strategic OEM and distribution partners and is currently being evaluated by early customers.
