I agree with you that things are not equal around the globe. However, what they are experiencing is necessary if they plan on competing in this world wide market. What these countries need today is to allow the free flow of capital as well as giving their people the ability to participate in their economy. The gap between rich and poor is much wider outside of the U.S.

I think your comments about the Germans and Americans dominating their tourism (and the lack of Japanese) nails it right on the head. Countries that fail to make the necessary changes today will be left at the starting gate.
