IMHO, your response is lacking detail and supporting information. You still don't see the importance of manufacturing the chipset. That's OK. Alcatel is the clear winner in DSLAM's and software for those DSLAMS's. Alcatel is partnering with multiple vendors on the remote/customer end. How can you say Cisco is the leader, when Alcatel won BEL{40million lines}, Ameritech{20million lines}, SBC+Pactel {40 million lines}, BellSouth {20 million lines} and Bell Canada {20 million lines}. I've only listed the North American wins.

Cisco {20million lines} + Sprint vs Alcatel {140 milllion lines}

I really don't see the logic behind your statement. Can you provide some detail on that USWest deployment? Help us all understand your view... until later.
