OK ... ' thousands of new internet users appear every day.' Then what?

Of every 1,000 new internet users, I'd guess 997 will not have heard of the mcafee site. Of the 3 left, 1 might be interested and, of that one, 0.4 are willing to pay for the service.

Of the 20,000,000 already using the net, perhaps 100 on a given day are looking for that type of site. Half of them won't pay, so you have 50.4 potential new customers for mcafee each day. Forty of them carry through and sign up. Thirty will go beyond a free trial, or will pay for more than the second month. Then 30 x 365 is roughly 10,000 new customers a year. Of millions on the Internet, this is peanuts.

Now this all changes if McAfee will spend its money on target advertising. So far, though, this is really an unknown site to the Internet public. Without links from the portals like Yahoo, it won't generate much interest even with growth on the Internet.
