I want to change on line brokers Brown and Company just screwed me and I have had it with them. Anybody comment on the best around for trading, cost and executions?

Sorry I'm so long in responding Patrick, I took a few days off.

RE the first 30 minutes, I have a "rule" that I abide by for the most part, and that is not to trade in the first 30 minutes, and I rarely break it. This is partly because I am ill equipped to handle the swings, and partly because the type of trading I do allows for the stock to "settle" down a bit.

But you are correct about getting a proper fill. I don't allege that Datek is a great day trader system in the truest sense of the word. Since my environment is that I am behind a firewall on a corp. LAN, I can't use a real realtime system like MB Trader. Because of these factors and others I use a "poor mans system". So maybe I am not truly a "day trader", I just like to be in cash at my 3:45 pseudo bell.
