With 100% tax rate you collect 0 dollars - why work? To continue the same argument -- when the minimum-wage can't even keep up with inflation, when payroll taxes keep rising... in short, when work is not even as rewarding as welfare is -- why work? President Clinton is to be commended for his steadfastness on the minimum wage issue. The rise in minimum-wage hasn't exactly created the kind of calamity that many of his opponents had "predicted". Instead, it has created an economic boom because many from the lower classes now have more purchasing power than ever before. But then, we know why Clinton's economic opponents exist! They are there to make fortune-tellers look good! :-)
