AOL dropped like a stone when news broke this afternoon that it was
buying MovieFone. Anyone know how this acquisition fits into
the business plan? Maybe the $treet thinks AOL is paying too much...
think the stock was at $6 not that long ago.

America Online
said Monday it's agreed to buy MovieFone
for $388 million in stock.

Bob Pittman, president and chief operating officer of AOL, said
MovieFone adds "an exciting new area of local e-commerce to
AOL and our other brands" and is a "perfect fit with Digital City."
